Textile
design has been revolutionised with our range of laser
cutting systems, our laser cutter technology could take
you and your company beyond the 21st century in style.
New avenues now exist for appliqué design and embroidery
techniques leaving other cutting methods in the dark
ages. As well as being creative in both design and the
use of fabrics, work produced on our systems is accurate,
clean-cut and very cost effective. Clean,
accurate cutting can be achieved on a wide range of
materials including:
- Acrylic,
acetate and several other plastics
- Paper,
card and wood
- Leather
and suede
- Fabrics
from silk to denim
- Signmaking
materials including self-adhesive films, reflective
and retro-reflective materials
- Veneer
for marquetry
- Polyester
sheeting for stencils
All of
our lasers are also capable of laser etching and marking,
with the Rapide specialising in these areas.
|
The
laser systems utilise the latest technology to produce
the cleanest and most accurate cuts ever at a fraction
of the cost of conventional cutting processes.
Proven in areas which traditionally have been difficult
to work, our systems incorporate a laser which cuts
to precise depths, with the speed of the head determining
the depth of the beam. Unlike blade driven systems,
there is no deterioration in quality of cut, with the
laser producing identical results time and time again.
They enhance productivity times as well as providing
consistency and quality, enabling very intricate designs
to be produced.
Complex shapes, sharp angles and tight radius turns
are cut accurately and quickly, enabling very intricate
designs to be produced.
Because the laser seals the edges of the fabric as it
cuts, fraying and unraveling are minimised.
Able to cut to precise depths, our lasers allow fabric
shapes to be produced for incorporation into appliqué
designs and can produce intricate shapes plus those
with holes, achieving an inlaid effect.
We can even produce multi-coloured appliqués where fabric
or vinyl can be laid, cut and weeded through different
layers to produce innovative 'three dimensional' designs.

Embroidery
Process :

|
Our
laser cutters have been developed with their own unique
laser-cutting technology. Ongoing tests have introduced
the use of a new, much wider range of appliqué fabrics
including felt, denim, rubber, leather, twill, tackle
twill, suede, cotton and polyester.
|
Most
fabrics cut have the option of an adhesive backing
from the G S UK 'tack' range. A markout guideline
is embroidered, the appliqué shape is placed into
position, followed by top stitching to complete the
design.

Multiple
Appliqué :

|
The
laser cutters come with the option to cut either rolls
of fabric for mass production or smaller swatches
using the flat-bed attachment. All cutting maximises
the use of fabrics leaving little waste. Cutting speeds
vary up to a maximum of 600mm per second.
|
Design
possibilities are endless due to cutting techniques.
Various fabrics can be applied to a design altogether,
reducing running time and production costs. Shapes
can be cut with varying detail, even with the introduction
of holes within the same design. The holes could be
used to reveal the base fabric or filled with an identical
shape, cut from a contrasting material.

Decorative
Borders :

|
A
new design technique developed in conjunction with the
laser cutters multi-layering. Layers of fabric are sandwiched
together and then laser cut. Various areas then peel
away to reveal a combination of colour and texture. |
Many
fabrics today include some man-made yarns. Cutting with
our laser technology, such fabrics are 'sealed' leaving
the finest of edges. This quality allows the introduction
of more decorative borders. These produce a unique embroidery
and have the added advantage of a lower stitch count. |

Series Laser Cutters
Our extremely versatile and accurate range of flatbed
laser cutters can be supplied individually or we can
design a full production system to your unique specification. |
The
quality of the cut produced is ideal for the production
of designs using fabrics with a heat activated glue.
Such designs include heat activated numbers for the
sport and leisure industry or more conventional badge
and shield designs |
