COLOUR
VISTA:
This product has two main function areas. Colour to thread features,
and embroidery stitch design storage in a database. The colours
from images or stitch designs can be matched to a thread database.
It can estimate the amount of stitches needed if the image was punched
and stitched. Stitch designs can be colour matched and printed with
fabric backgrounds.

The
Stitch Estimator
This tool allows the user to scan in or import an artwork/image.
This powerful feature allows the artwork colours to be reduced,
edited or even merged together. Once the artwork
has been translated into a sensible number of 'embroidery colours'
the software will then estimate the number of stitches the design
will have when digitised. The estimation procedure breaks the
design down per colour. So if a design had 4 colours but one
colour was not due to be embroidered then it is possible to
instruct the software to ignore this particular colour.
Once the 'Stitch Estimate' has been calculated the user can
then begin costing the design.

Embroidery
Costings
Once the stitch design has been created Colour Vista also has
many unique tools allowing the calculation of production costs.
Within the costing application, a guideline of time and expenditure
of producing a design can be outputted. The user can specify
a number of details relevant to their own production environment.
It is possible to enter details about individual machines such
as: number of machine heads, running speeds, trim speeds and
jump speeds among many factors. Operating costs can also be
specified, these include factors like: employees wages and any
other fixed or variable costs. The number of garments or pieces
to be produced can also be entered. Once the relevant information
has been provided the costing application can then calculate
a multitude of factors, ranging from the cost per individual
garment or per complete run. This powerful tool has benefits
when competing for orders and also planning production.

Editing
your Colour Palette
Moving to the Palette Manager feature, the user is welcomed
by an extensive library of different thread shades and types.
The key idea is that this tool enables the customer to bring
in a design and have the facility to alter the thread colour
and range used. The colour reference guide is extremely simple
to use. The user can create their own colour palettes or 'Colour
Match' to a selection of extensive thread shades.
-
Building
your Database Library
Once having the embroidery design data, the next stage is that
of storage. The file(s) can be saved to an integrated database
system and retained on any drive of your choice. Colour Vista
also holds network capabilities which allows the user to share
a database with existing ApS-Ethos products. Within the database,
the user can give the design a file name, can create their own
reference number and contribute the necessary design descriptions
for future reference. Designs may also be placed into user defined
categories. An additional bonus is that the file history is
automatically recorded, date and time, an excellent device when
searching for previous files. Colour Vista is capable of importing
the majority of popular, standard approved industrial machine
formats.
-
Producing
Instruction Sheets
Once a design has been loaded, assigned colours etc, it is also
possible to produce instruction sheets. Various layout options
are available. The user may print one type of instruction sheet
for the embroidery operator and a different one for the customer,
with different sets of details on each. Providing the operator
with a correct instruction sheet can be vital for minimising
the risks of mistakes, as this acts as blueprint. The instruction
sheet can display amongst other things the design name, customer
name, date, scale, size and stitch count. As the operator progresses
down the sheet a colour listings chart can be seen, which openly
displays all threads specified within the design. This colour
chart denotes the exact run order of the coloured thread.

Other
Features
Before the user plans to save the design, other versatile tools
can be found. The facilities on offer are the recognised zoom
in and out device. Also available is the essential Slow Redraw
feature, which demonstrates the stitches physically being recreated
on screen exactly as they would run on the embroidery machine.
This feature is vital for the customer as a reference point,
when monitoring how the stitches lie and connect so that mishaps
can be avoidable. A Rendered View option also exists which provides
a 'true view' of what the finished piece of embroidery would
actually resemble.

styles.Once a template is loaded the user simply invokes the monogram
generator and types in the letters required, the new lettering is

ON MINI WRITER:
-
STITCH
GRADUATOR:
The Stitch Graduator tool operates on existing stitch designs
it allows the orientation, scale, density, bar widths etc. of
part or whole of a design to be altered. This may be achieved
by setting a percentage value or by altering the actual width
and height dimensions of the design. The Graduator will also
allow the stitch density of a design to be altered independently
to the scale. The Graduator tool works by categorising the stitched
areas of the design into either Running stitch, Satin stitch
or Fill stitch. Each of these different types of stitching may
be reviewed and altered as required. The Graduator tool also
enables a block or blocks to be rotated or mirrored..
-
NAME
DROP:
The Name drop option allows multiple text entries to be created,
rather than having to create lines of text one at a time. This
is particularly useful for those companies that do a large amount
of Personalisation on garments.
Two different options exist when using the Name drop option,
either
(a) One design will be created with a jump to start and stop
function applied in-between each text input.
(b) Separate design will automatically be created for each different
text input.
